"This guide provides a comprehensive checklist of ninety-eight fish species that may be found in the live seafood market in the Asia/Pacific region. The pictures, scientific names, English common names, multilingual common names, simple descriptions of characteristics and habitats, maximum size and maturity size of each species are provided. The common names include those available from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Customs and fisheries officials, traders, retailers, fishermen and other stakeholders are encouraged to follow this guide for easy identification and consistent usage in the market place.
