CORAL Citizen Science “Train the Trainers” Workshop

Details: We are looking for interested stakeholders who would like to participate in Citizen Science for Puakō and Waialea Bay. Learn how to gather water quality data through hands-on techniques developed from the successful Hui O Ka Wai Ola Citizen Science Program model based in Maui. You’ll also learn the quality assurance procedures approved by the Department of Health. This program will serve as a guide for Citizen Science on the Big Island.

Workshop Schedule: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. — Classroom training – techniques and best practices
12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. — Lunch – provided by workshop organizers
1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. — Field training* – water sampling and proper probe usage

*Please bring tennis/water shoes, coral-safe sunscreen and water
