This region has the second largest barrier reef in the world (the Mesoamerican Reef) and spans the coasts of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Globally, <a href=\"https:\/\/coral.org\/en\/what-we-do\/global-conservation\/\">we lead a new era of reef conservation<\/a> that focuses on reducing threats to reefs so they can adapt to climate change and facilitates new scientific understandings of coral evolution. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We work at multiple scales from&nbsp;local to global&nbsp;to ensure that coral reefs thrive for generations to come.
