Angell Family Foundation to support facilitating a global network to monitor coral bleaching and water quality threat alerts from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allencoralatlas.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Allen Coral Atlas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A new partner of ours, the Atlas is a collaboration of scientists and researchers who are using high-resolution satellite imagery to create freely-available standardized maps of the world&#8217;s coral reefs, and other innovative products. The potential conservation gains from this collaboration are enormous, and we&#8217;re excited to support them.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9541\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9541\" style=\"width: 958px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9541 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/coral.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Screen-Shot-2021-01-13-at-7.25.11-AM.png\" alt=\"Screen shot of the Allen Coral Atlas\" width=\"958\" height=\"668\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9541\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A map of Oahu, Hawai&#8217;i from the Allen Coral Atlas showing satellite imagery, coral reef locations and information and possible bleaching events from 2019.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m thrilled to help build this partnership between the Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL) and the Allen Coral Atlas,&#8221; says Dr. Helen Fox, CORAL&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/coral.org\/science-of-adaptation\/\">Conservation Science<\/a> Director. &#8220;The Atlas will prove to be a vital asset as we work to better understand how coral reefs are connected to each other and how we can help encourage their <a href=\"https:\/\/coral.org\/science-of-adaptation\/\">evolutionary response to climate change<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining <a href=\"https:\/\/coral.org\/our-team\/\">CORAL&#8217;s team<\/a>, Dr. Fox served as the lead for field engagement for the Allen Coral Atlas while based at the National Geographic Society.
