Kristin Sherwood

Strategic Impact Director

Kristin brings 20 years of experience in international marine conservation, partnerships, and strategy to CORAL. Her career highlights include a decade directing programmatic work at FishChoice, an organization dedicated to promoting sustainable seafood through innovative tools and collaboration. Prior to that, she launched the Conservation Partnership Initiative for The Nature Conservancy, fostering high-impact, cross-sector partnerships. Kristin also served as a Program Officer at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, managing a grant portfolio focused on large-scale coastal management in Mexico, Asia-Pacific, and California’s coast. She has also lived and worked in the coral reef nations of Palau, Belize, and the Philippines, where she was involved with small non-profit organizations and worked as a divemaster. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Resource Management from James Cook University in Australia.

Kristin is a native of Virginia, but now lives with her family in Girona, Spain. She is an avid traveller, loves exploring new cities on foot, sifting through markets, finding street art in hidden alleys. Her happiest place, however, is in the water – from hot springs to coral reef drop offs.

“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever”
