Zach Hoffman

Associate Director, Program Operations

Zach is a program operations specialist with over 15 years of experience in international, community-led conservation. His work has focused on supporting and equipping local communities to participate in and benefit from the management of their natural resources. He has extensive experience navigating the challenges that nonprofits face in implementing programs across multiple geographies while scaling impact. At CORAL, Zach serves as the operational anchor for program delivery, ensuring that CORAL’s regional hubs have the systems, tools, and support they need to implement strategies successfully and learn from one another. Zach served in the United States Peace Corps in Morocco and is fluent in Tamazight, a local dialect of the indigenous Berber language. He earned his Executive Master of Natural Resources degree from Virginia Tech and his Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from SUNY Plattsburgh. As often as time allows, Zach can be found enjoying the sand, sun, and waves of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, with his family.

Out beyond the break, as the swell moved beneath me, slow and steady as breath, it was sometimes possible to feel the intimation of something larger, as sense of time’s depth, of the great pulse of the world’s cycles. And although it was never easy to articulate, it often seemed that something transformative inhered in those moments – as if to give oneself over to the ocean’s largeness and the movement of the wind and the waves might offer a glimpse of another way of being.
