Elsy Zamora
Research Assistant (Western Caribbean)
Elsy is a Civil Engineer who graduated from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) and holds a Master’s Degree in Sanitary Engineering from the University of San Carlos of Guatemala.
Her passion for water and sanitation began while working with Honduras’ national water and sanitation regulatory agency, where she collaborated with municipal and community service providers across the country. This experience allowed her to support utilities through technical assistance, training, water quality management, and regulatory processes, while gaining firsthand knowledge of water and sanitation systems in diverse communities.
Elsy joined the Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL) in 2025 as a Water and Sanitation Specialist Consultant and became Clean Water Program Coordinator in 2026. Based in Roatán, she works with municipalities, service providers, and local partners to advance sustainable water and sanitation solutions that benefit both communities and coral reef ecosystems.
